Launch
Students will launch the bird flu game-design project by experiencing a fast outbreak model, building shared science understanding about symptoms, transmission, and prevention, and critiquing how a simple game can represent a complex system before moving into research and empathy work.

Research And Empathy Map
Students will gather evidence about how people understand bird flu spread and prevention, compare assumptions to real user feedback, and turn those insights into an empathy map, a focused design problem, and an initial outbreak game model with clear inputs, processes, outputs, and limits.

Showcase
Students will present their completed bird flu strategy board games to peers and adult visitors, explain how their rules model transmission and prevention, gather authentic user feedback during showcase play, and complete a final performance assessment through the game, rulebook, and scientific explanations.
