Launch
Students will enter the project by experiencing real English tasks, noticing what makes conversations hard or successful, and beginning an investigation into how people understand and respond in everyday and workplace English. They will analyze native-speaker speech, practice key conversation moves, document early evidence in a speaking notebook, refine investigable questions with peer critique, and complete an initial performance checkpoint that sets up later data collection and revision.

Students will investigate why fast, natural English is hard to understand by analyzing short native-speaker clips, documenting reduced speech and linked words, refining an investigable question with peers, and drafting an evidence-based hypothesis that will guide later speaking and listening data collection.

Students will collect comparable speaking and listening evidence through repeated role-plays, native-speaker retells, and conversation logs, then refine their responses using peer, tutor, and family feedback while tracking patterns in fluency, register, and comprehension.

Analyze & Compare Results
Students will organize speaking and listening evidence from earlier recordings, compare before-and-after performance across audiences and tasks, test interpretations with peers and adults, and identify defensible patterns and anomalies that explain changes in fluency, listening, and register use.

Conclude & Showcase
Students will finalize evidence-based conclusions from their speaking and listening investigation, revise showcase materials through critique, and prepare interactive Conversation Cafe and booth experiences that let guests hear growth, join authentic scenarios, and test everyday and workplace English tasks.

Students will finalize and present their speaking investigation through public performance, interactive conversation tasks, and portfolio evidence. They will use peer and audience feedback to strengthen final products, demonstrate audience-appropriate English in live scenarios, and compare early and late recordings to explain their growth with concrete evidence.
