Launch
Students will launch the hangout design project by stepping into the 20-by-30-foot challenge, testing first ideas with real space and budget constraints, and recording initial mathematical and user-centered questions that will guide later research, drafting, and revision.

Research & Empathy
Students will gather direct user and site evidence, identify needs and constraints, and turn that evidence into a clear How Might We statement and preliminary design brief that will guide later layout, scale, and budget decisions.
Days 2 - 3

Prototype & Present
Students will turn empathy findings and earlier drafts into testable hangout prototypes, gather outside feedback, revise with math evidence, and complete a stakeholder-ready design package with a concise pitch.
Days 4 - 5

Showcase
Students will showcase their final hangout proposals to an authentic audience, defend design trade-offs with mathematical evidence, answer stakeholder questions, and capture one clear reflection about how feedback changed their design decisions.
