Students will launch the Fraction Flower Garden project by examining real bouquet examples, noticing how flowers can represent fractions, and beginning to define what makes a clear math display for real visitors. They will build shared understanding of the project purpose, audience, and expectations while practicing early fraction comparison and communication moves with concrete models.

Students will investigate how classmates understand bouquet fractions, gather evidence about common confusion points such as comparing parts from different wholes, and turn those findings into a design brief for paper flower bouquets that teach fraction ideas clearly.

Students will turn user insights into bouquet-display design ideas, compare possible concepts, build low-fidelity paper flower prototypes, test them with real users, and revise based on evidence before moving into refinement.

Students will use final user feedback to improve their paper flower bouquet designs, check fraction accuracy, and prepare clear presentations for families, peers, school staff, and the flower shop partner.

Students will present their completed Fraction Flower Garden to families, peers, school staff, community members, and the flower shop partner, explain the fraction mathematics in their bouquets with labeled visuals and oral reasoning, gather audience feedback, and reflect on how their design choices helped others understand fractions.
