Students will launch the friendship investigation by practicing Lunch Bunch routines, noticing what good friends do in shared spaces, and beginning to sort school problems as small or big. They will generate questions from play-based scenarios, set an initial friendship goal with teacher support, and complete a picture-based baseline check before later evidence collection phases.

Students will investigate puzzling Lunch Bunch friendship moments by acting out school scenarios, sorting helpful and hurtful behaviors, and talking about what makes a problem small or big. They will practice kind words, turn-taking, and asking for help, then use observations from play and shared spaces to form an early class hypothesis about what a good friend does at school.

Students will co-design a simple, picture-based method for noticing friendship behaviors during play and Lunch Bunch, choose a personal behavior goal, practice using shared tracking categories, and complete a teacher-supported prequiz before beginning formal evidence collection.

Students will use picture-based tracking tools during Lunch Bunch, play, and group tasks to collect evidence about friendship behaviors, check the accuracy of what they noticed, and connect observations to personal behavior goals. They will practice noticing turn-taking, kind words, small problems, conflict solutions, and times when adult help is needed, then use peer and teacher feedback to revise their records and prepare for later analysis.

Students will sort and discuss patterns from their friendship evidence, revise personal behavior goals with feedback, create school-ready friendship posters, complete a post-check, and share what they learned with peers and trusted adults during Lunch Bunch.

Students will present their friendship posters and Lunch Bunch learning to families, staff, and peers, then reflect on how their friendship goals changed through feedback, behavior data, and shared school routines.
