Students will launch the fraction investigation by rotating through a hands-on match-up challenge, building first evidence with paper fraction models, recording comparison claims, and identifying questions they want to investigate next with a partner.

Students will use evidence from paper fraction models to choose an investigable comparison question, make a simple hypothesis, and co-design a clear partner plan for what models to build, record, and check before collecting more data.
Day 2

Showcase
Students will present their partner-made fraction gallery posters, explain conclusions from their paper-model investigation, revise one final time from peer feedback, and complete an exit ticket showing how fractions can be modeled, placed, and compared.
