Students will launch the weather station investigation by observing real sky clues, using grade 3 weather vocabulary, setting up shared recording routines, and generating questions about patterns they can track over 4 weeks at school.

Students will observe and sort weather clues, refine the class investigation question, and create a clear plan for how their weather station tools will be built, labeled, and used consistently. They will practice using grade 3 weather vocabulary, test simple recording methods, give and receive partner feedback, and revise their instrument plans before moving into full data collection.

Students will build and calibrate handmade weather tools, collect consistent daily weather evidence, compare and revise their recording systems through partner critique, and complete a midpoint quality check so their notebooks and data wall are ready for later graphing and pattern analysis.

Students will turn 4 weeks of school weather records into clear graphs and displays, test their interpretations against evidence, revise labels and explanations after peer feedback, complete a photo-based reflection, and prepare a simple presentation for the Weather Watch Showcase.

Students will present their weather station kit and data displays to families and school staff, explain one weather pattern they identified from 4 weeks of school observations, make a simple evidence-based claim about a weather hazard design idea, and complete a brief reflection using audience feedback and their own learning evidence.
