Launch
Launch
Students will launch the Innovation Center project by experiencing a hands-on innovation fair, gathering first observations and questions about school spaces, and turning those early insights into a simple user-centered problem statement and quick feature sketch that sets up later research and design work.
Days 1 - 2
Ideate & Prototype
Ideate & Prototype
Students will turn empathy findings and How Might We statements into multiple Innovation Center concepts, compare options using criteria and constraints, build a low-fidelity prototype, test it with peers and a community partner, and revise based on evidence before moving into a more refined design phase.
Days 9 - 13
Refine & Showcase
Refine & Showcase
Students will refine their Innovation Center prototypes through two feedback-and-revision cycles, validate decisions with a new or representative user, and prepare a stakeholder-facing presentation that explains the problem, evidence, design changes, and next steps.
Days 14 - 18
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their Innovation Center proposal boards, models, budgets, and design stories to an authentic audience, gather final stakeholder feedback, and reflect on how user research, criteria, constraints, and revision shaped their final ideas and next steps.
