Learning Goals

1

Students will be able to synthesize anonymous culture-survey results, reflection-wall observations, and peer-listening evidence to define patterns in respect, participation, conflict response, psychological safety, and belonging through evidence-based, user-centered problem definition.

2

Students will be able to test active listening, accountable talk, empathetic questioning, and respectful disagreement across mixed Compass Points perspectives to demonstrate how inclusive communication supports healthy relationships and shared participation.

3

Students will be able to prototype, justify, and refine observable group and schoolwide agreements using stakeholder evidence, conflict-scenario testing, and peer feedback to show how iterative norm design creates a safer, more respectful, and productive school culture.

School Culture Evidence Brief and Norm Prototype

Each student creates a concise evidence brief synthesizing anonymous survey data, a reflection-wall observation, and firsthand peer-listening evidence, then drafts and tests one observable norm with examples, non-examples, feedback, and a revision. The brief also documents the student's before-and-after self and peer check on respectful communication, participation, and conflict response.

School Culture Norms Wall and Conflict-Scenario Showcase

Each mixed Compass Points team combines individual findings into an evidence-based problem statement, survey graph, and revised prototype of group and schoolwide agreements, then presents a brief role-play showing a collaboration challenge and how the norms improve the response. Teams justify design decisions to students, staff, and the counselor or social worker using stakeholder evidence and feedback.
