Students will launch the Chicago Loop public art critic project by analyzing how public art shapes attention and movement, identifying likely end users for a walking tour, and drafting a challenge definition, end user overview, and inquiry questions grounded in initial evidence and multiple perspectives.

Students will analyze site-based evidence from four Loop artworks, evaluate sources and observations, identify likely causes of uneven public art engagement, and propose a user-centered walking tour direction for the Chicago Loop Alliance.

Students will analyze a model walking-tour critique, turn Loop observations into a testable route idea, plan their team prototype, and document one feedback-driven revision to their audio and photo tour concept for the Chicago Loop Alliance.

Students will field-test their Chicago Loop public art walking tour proposal with peers, collect evidence about visitor attention and interpretation, and use that data to judge how well their route, photo stops, and audio critiques work.

Students will present their Chicago Loop public art walking tour proposal and then complete a culminating reflection that traces how their observations, critiques, revisions, and community-facing design choices developed across the project.
