Students will turn their environmental question into a credible investigation plan by selecting measurable variables, building repeatable field methods, testing documentation systems, and choosing the calculus representations they will later use to analyze change. Through partner input, pilot data collection, and multiple critique-and-revision rounds, they will produce a peer-reviewed methodology package that gates their move into full field data collection.

Students will carry out repeated field investigations using the methods they planned earlier, document each observation with traceable metadata and uncertainty notes, and maintain organized datasets that can support later calculus modeling and environmental analysis. Across site visits, lab cleanup sessions, and critique checkpoints, they will test whether their methods produce usable evidence, revise weak documentation practices, and prepare a verified body of data for Phase 5 pattern analysis.

Students will transform traceable field datasets into evidence-based interpretations by building Dear Data visuals, graphs, regressions, rate-of-change representations, threshold models, and accumulated-impact calculations. They will test claims against anomalies and uncertainty, use peer critique to revise analyses, and prepare a vetted analysis portfolio that supports later conclusions, action choices, QR-linked resources, and final exhibition materials.
