Students will launch the My Map of Chicago project by examining whose stories are missing from common city representations, identifying authentic end users, and drafting evidence-based challenge materials that guide later neighborhood research, concept development, and prototyping.

Students will analyze Chicago fieldwork and research to evaluate sources, identify root causes of underrepresented city stories, and propose one evidence-based direction for an interactive map experience.

Students will analyze models of interactive city storytelling, turn neighborhood research into a testable design direction, and produce a team plan for building and revising an interactive Chicago map artifact.

Students will implement and test their interactive Chicago map prototypes with classmates acting as authentic users, gather evidence about what audiences understand and experience, and analyze results to plan revisions grounded in feedback and observed use.

Students will present their interactive Chicago map experiences to an authentic audience, explain how research and feedback shaped their final design choices, and document how their understanding of Chicago, collaboration, and creative communication grew across the project.
