Students will enter the teen center challenge through a fast, evidence-based launch that introduces the old Rite Aid site, surfaces assumptions about what makes a space welcoming, safe, and useful, and sets up the research and design work of the next phase.

Students will gather direct evidence about teen needs and community assets, turn that evidence into usable patterns, and draft an initial design brief that identifies priorities and assumptions to test in the next phase.

Students will turn earlier teen-needs evidence into multiple concept directions, build quick floor plan and service prototypes, test them with peers and a community partner, and document two rounds of revision before choosing one direction to carry into refinement.

Students will refine their teen center proposal by tightening the link between user evidence and design choices, strengthening layout and program decisions, building a realistic budget and funding plan, validating their concept with outside feedback, and preparing a stakeholder-facing draft presentation that shows revisions and next steps.

Students will present their final Old Rite Aid Teen Center proposal to community partners, defend design and budget choices with user evidence, respond to audience questions, and document how feedback and critique shaped the final version through a brief debrief reflection.
