Students will be able to create and build a small parade prop or mini balloon float using nonrepresentational materials so it can stand, roll, or be carried safely.
Students will be able to analyze how colors, shapes, symbols, and size help a parade design communicate a Thanksgiving idea to an audience.
Students will be able to collaborate with peers to plan, revise, and share a parade design based on feedback from a gallery walk or rehearsal.
Products
Thanksgiving Parade User-Insight Sketchbook and Mini Float Prototype
Each student completes a simple user-insight page showing what audience members need to understand about the parade idea, then builds one small prototype float, prop, or banner. The product must show how the design changed after feedback and how it communicates gratitude or celebration.
Class Thankful Tots Parade Float Display and Family Presentation
Teams combine individual research and prototype ideas into one shared parade piece with a clear problem statement, improved design, and short explanation for families. The final display is presented in the school parade route or gallery walk as an audience-ready solution.
