Students will watch and discuss a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade example, identify how props and visual design tell a story for a community, and help launch the class engineering challenge by naming story ideas, success criteria, and constraints for a school parade creation.

Students will turn a parade idea into a tested plan by naming the school story they want to share, choosing realistic materials, checking safety and movement, and revising their design after partner feedback.

Students will present their class parade float or balloon display to the school community, explain how it tells a school story, share evidence of one revision from testing, and reflect on feedback from families, parent volunteers, and peers.
