Students will launch the color-and-mood investigation by analyzing illustrated story details, connecting emotions to color choices, gathering first evidence with a school counselor, and creating a mini artwork they can revise after peer and sticky-note feedback.

Students will investigate how illustrated story details and color choices communicate feelings by closely reading images, comparing cultural examples, drafting a personal color-and-mood question and hypothesis, and building a simple evidence-collection method they can use in the next phase.

Students will gather and document evidence from multiple illustrated-story color studies, test how color choices communicate character feelings, participate in repeated sticky-note gallery walks, and revise their work so their observations, color decisions, and emotional interpretations are clear and credible.

Students will analyze evidence from their color studies, form and test conclusions against their original questions and hypotheses, revise artwork using peer and audience feedback, and complete contributions to the collaborative mural and exhibit materials for the Palette Parade Celebration.

Students will present their collaborative color-and-mood mural, collage wall, and selected portfolio pieces to families and school staff, explain claims from their investigation using story and color evidence, gather audience feedback, and complete a final reflection on how their artwork and thinking changed through critique and revision.
