Students will launch the investigation by using chapter-based trivia, prediction thinking, and discussion to notice how character actions shape outcomes in The Lemonade War. They will begin building an evidence mindset by recording early observations on a class timeline, trying out investigable questions, and naming the reading and social skills they will use in later phases.

Students will turn early observations from The Lemonade War into focused investigable questions, build a shared method for tracing character choices and impacts, test their note-taking system with chapter evidence, and revise their plans through peer feedback before moving into full evidence collection.

Students will gather and organize traceable evidence from The Lemonade War in their Investigation Notebook by answering chapter trivia, logging quotations and notes, tracking cause-and-effect events, and documenting how character choices affect others. They will pause for a midpoint quality check with peer feedback, revise incomplete or weak evidence, and complete a checkpoint that shows their notes are accurate, reusable, and aligned to their investigable question.

Students will analyze patterns in their evidence from The Lemonade War, test whether their interpretations hold up under peer critique, and turn their findings into clear conclusions, take-home challenge cards, and short reflections for the family/community action wall.

Students will present their Lemonade War investigation findings and action wall materials to an authentic audience, explain how character choices affected others using text evidence, and complete a final reflection on academic and social-emotional growth.
