Student Investigation Notebook for Snack Count Problems
Each student keeps a research-style notebook showing one focused snack-count question, the tools or representations used, recorded counts, and personal explanations. The notebook proves individual mastery of addition and subtraction within 20 and shows how the student revised thinking from feedback.
Cafeteria Snack Count Showcase Placemat and Poster Set
Teams create a formal set of snack-time placemats and cafeteria posters that synthesize group findings, include visuals and equations, and explain strategies for how many are needed, left, and altogether. The set must show each member’s contributions and address any mismatched or surprising results with a clear explanation.
