Students will launch the tessellation investigation by exploring artworks and quick-build patterns, then record an initial transformation sequence and questions they want to investigate about congruence.

Students will investigate a tessellation from quilts or mosaics, form a testable congruence question and hypothesis, and draft a peer-reviewed plan for collecting evidence with labeled diagrams, measurements, and a transformation sequence record.

Students will present their tessellation poster sets to peers and guests, explain a sequence of transformations that proves congruence, collect sticky-note feedback during a gallery walk, and use that evidence to name how their mathematical explanation and teamwork grew across the project.
