Students will launch the project by examining posters, textbook excerpts, images, and event cards to notice patterns in growing colonial conflict, then build an initial evidence-based idea about what pushed the colonies from protest toward revolution and what they will need to prove in the debate.

Take a Position Debate
Students will take an early position on whether colonists should resist British control, analyze Patriot and Loyalist evidence from short source sets, build a first draft debate board, and use discussion plus peer feedback to identify the strongest counterevidence they need to investigate next.
