Learning Goals

1

Students will be able to formulate a testable question about how force and mass affect a Marvel scene's motion.

2

Students will be able to design a fair investigation of pushes, pulls, friction, and mass in a superhero motion scenario.

3

Students will be able to collect and organize motion data from trials using tables, measurements, and trial notes.

4

Students will be able to analyze patterns in motion data to determine how the sum of forces and mass changed the object's motion.

5

Students will be able to justify an evidence-based claim about a Marvel character's motion using experimental results.

6

Students will be able to evaluate limitations in their investigation, including variables, measurement quality, and inconsistent results.

7

Students will be able to collaborate to refine storyboards, methods, and conclusions through peer and mentor feedback.

Marvel Force-and-Motion Investigation Notebook

A research notebook that documents the student's testable question, method decisions, trial data, revised thinking, and final individual analysis of a Marvel-inspired motion investigation. It shows how the student used evidence to explain the effect of force sum and mass on motion.

Marvel Scene Investigation Conference Presentation

A team presentation or display that synthesizes each member's evidence into one coherent explanation of the chosen Marvel scene. It includes the shared method, data visuals, conclusions, limitations, and answers to audience questions.
