Students will explore various community waste practices by interviewing family members, neighbors, and school personnel to gather insights about existing recycling habits, while observing different types of waste around them to understand sorting challenges and opportunities for improvement.

Students will collaborate in teams to distill their findings from the initial research phase into a clear and focused problem statement about effective waste sorting, using interactive storyboard sessions and feedback from peers and Recycle Birge representatives to ensure alignment with community needs.

Students will collaborate in small groups to brainstorm and sketch a variety of creative and innovative ideas for their video instructions, considering different methods to educate the community on reducing, reusing, and recycling effectively, while receiving constructive input from their peers and Recycle Birge representatives.

Students will create draft video instructions for proper waste sorting and reduction, share these prototypes with peers and Recycle Birge, and incorporate feedback to refine their content and presentation for clarity and impact.

Students will present their polished video instructions to peers, Recycle Birge representatives, and community stakeholders during the 'Recycle Rally,' gather feedback for final improvements, and reflect on their learning impact through a student-led school presentation.
