How this Plan uses your files

All six named source lessons/activities are inventoried in source order. Because the fixed plan provides only 150 minutes rather than the source’s six-week sequence, the Worker’s Rights and Environmental Activism lessons are excluded for insufficient time. The selected sequence retains the launch with Barrio Rising, the two-source educational-equity investigation, informational writing, and the Chicano Park–inspired mural. Activities must be compressed through teacher read-alouds or carefully selected excerpts; the PDF names but does not include the books, nonfiction passage, article, mural references, worksheets, or art supplies.

  • Week 2: Worker's Rights: Excluded because the fixed five-session, 150-minute framework does not provide enough time to teach every source text while also completing the required two-source writing, mural, rehearsal, and exhibition. Educational Equity was retained as the focused investigation.
  • Week 3: Environmental Activism: Excluded because the fixed five-session, 150-minute framework cannot accommodate another complete text study while preserving the later two-source investigation, informational writing, mural production, rehearsal, and exhibition.
