Launch
Launch
Students will launch the investigation by noticing how choices affect clean and safe spaces in the classroom, outside, and the garden, including recycling routines. They will ask simple questions, act out better choices, begin using before-and-after evidence, and co-create shared habits they will track across the project.
Days 1 - 3
Wonder & Question
Wonder & Question
Students will compare before-and-after pictures, ask questions about shared spaces, and investigate better choices for keeping the classroom, outside areas, and the garden clean, including recycling routines. They will use speaking, gestures, drawings, and role-play to explain how choices affect places and living things, then choose one caring action to study more closely.
Days 4 - 9
Plan & Collect
Plan & Collect
Students will plan how to collect evidence about caring choices in classroom, outside, garden, and home spaces; build and use picture-based tools for noticing clean and safe actions; practice recycling routines; and begin gathering labeled photo and drawing evidence with peer feedback and revision.
Days 10 - 15
Sort Evidence
Sort Evidence
Students will sort photo evidence from classroom, outside, garden, and recycling observations; explain which choices caused changes in each place; and revise shared evidence displays after peer feedback using simple speaking, pointing, and picture-label routines.
Days 16 - 21
Review & Improve
Review & Improve
Students will review photo evidence from classroom, outside, garden, and recycling investigations, identify strong caring choices and places needing improvement, revise labels and picture matches with peer feedback, practice updated habits through quick role-play, and complete a short performance check showing a better choice and a next-time plan.
Days 22 - 27
Share Findings
Share Findings
Students will finalize and rehearse evidence-based poster pages and picture book pages that show how caring choices keep the classroom, outside spaces, gardens, and home clean, safe, and welcoming, including recycling solutions. They will use before-and-after photos, drawings, gestures, and short spoken sentences to explain what changed, what choice caused the change, and what they will do next time.
Days 28 - 33
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their class before-and-after posters and picture book to visitors, explain caring choices for the classroom, outside spaces, and the garden, include a recycling solution, and reflect on which habits helped shared places stay clean, safe, and welcoming.
