Students will enter the investigation project by noticing the outdoor world closely, practicing how to record what they see with drawings and talk, asking simple how/why questions, and beginning to understand that their observations can become evidence for later inquiry and community sharing.

Students will notice surprising details in outdoor spaces, talk through what they observe with classmates, and turn shared noticings into one simple class investigation question and an evidence-based guess.

Plan & Sort Steps
Students will co-plan a simple, repeatable way to investigate their class question by deciding what to notice, how to record evidence with pictures and symbols, and how to check that observations are clear enough for classmates to understand and use again.

Collect Field Notes
Students will carry out their planned investigation across several settings, record what they notice with drawings, labels, and teacher-supported symbols, compare evidence with classmates, and revise their field notes so another person can follow what they observed.

Show Evidence Check
Students will review their investigation evidence, compare records with classmates, notice patterns and surprises, and choose what needs one more careful look before drawing conclusions.

Conclude & Share
Students will use their collected evidence to talk about what they found out, compare their findings with classmates, revise a shared explanation, and prepare a simple mini-exhibit that shows their question, evidence, conclusion, and one thing they could not fully test.

Students will prepare and present their investigation learning to an authentic audience, use peer feedback to strengthen how they communicate evidence, share kindness-centered and creative responses from the project, and participate in an observation-based final showcase.
